School is in full swing now.  Bridget (below at right) had her first day of Kindergarten.  Hyeji had her first game to show off her cheerleading skills, and Foster is sleeping soundly in her crib. After a wonderful week at the Shakespeare Festival (last week), we only had two days to catch up: Roy had to work and I had to pick the garden, do some organizing, get the house straightened up, etc. before leaving again for our Labor Day Weekend trip to Flaming Gorge.  It's a great weekend to go because the water is still warm enough to swim and the town of Manilla puts on a great rodeo, boat light parade, and fireworks.  We had some chores to do at the cabin, too, so we headed for Wyoming on Wednesday evening.  I admit, it does feel like we've hardly been home all summer.  I did have an opportunity to skate on Wednesday before we left, and I still know how to do it (even though I haven't skated much this summer), but it did feel a little awkward and it definitel...

First, a few more kids head back to school.   Logan's school district started a week later than Davis County, and Davis County started 2 weeks after the Augusta, Ga. kids.  Once Bridget gets into Kindergarten next week, all the kids will be back to school. Ruby and Greta Shakespeare Festival Roy, Catharine, Darrell and Shelley Miles  We go every year to the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City.  We used to pick and choose our plays, sometimes skipping them because we didn't think they sounded interesting, and other times because we'd seen the play before.  After interacting with other festival goers, we would always hear, "Did you see ___? it was so awesome..."  And we'd regret that we hadn't; so, we started to see every play offered each season.  That's seven plays.  Then to top it off, we sometimes see a play that is from a new playwright where the ac...

I mentioned last week that Crista was on her way to the Gorge to spend some time.  We were there for just two days of her visit, Sunday and Monday.  The Vances stayed until Friday evening, having fun boating and hiking.  The kids loved the knee board that Dan purchased. After getting his way and  obtaining a ride in the Talon, he said, "I like this one better."   Crista told me that after boating a couple of times during the week, Todd said, "I want to take the little boat out next."  The little boat is not little, but it belongs to Adrienne and AJ.  He said he wanted to go in that one because it was "newer."  This is true, but how he knew it, we don't know.   Bac...
