A Few Pictures and a Thought

Roy was very busy all week with work meetings and a voluntary audit with HIPPA to make sure his company is compliant with all the privacy laws.  We didn't have a very eventful week, but we did get to spend a little time with Crista's family in Logan.  We have owed Greta her birthday date since the beginning of February, so we drove up to Logan, picked her up and headed to "Max!" Well, TJ Max, but the thank you note Greta had pre-written to me said, "Thank you for taking me to Max."  TJ Max is one of the few stores in Logan where we could find birthday gifts.  Todd was pretty disappointed when we came into his house for one minute, and left with Greta the next.  He even had his shoes in his hands trying to get Crista to put them on him.  Greta and grandma at TJ Max   We had a good time with Greta at "Max."  Afterward, we went back, picked up all the Vances and went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant on campus. It was pretty good, but they were busy a

2 Weeks in February

Week of February 5-11  Roy was gone almost all week at a conference in Dallas, Texas and said that it was a very successful conference.  He came home exhausted!  I had a little time to myself, but was visited by children and grandchildren throughout the week.  I baby-sat, had a lunch date, enjoyed a visit from some grandchildren, and finished up a sewing class I'd been going to for a few weeks. My first "babysitting" opportunity was, in reality, fun time with Ila while Adrienne had her hair done.  Ila spent nearly the whole 2 1/2 hours crafting at my counter.  We had a good time together.   My grandkids don't usually just show up, but this week I spent an enjoyable hour or so with Dojin, Yuna and Doyeon.  They came over to play in my creek which is frozen solid in many sections.  I invited them in for hot cocoa.  It's probably good that I did, because Yuna's socks were completely soaked.  I  put them in the dryer with a towel, but it took me three tries pressi

A little culture

This was a fun and hectic week of cultural events.  We have season tickets to our local Centerpoint Legacy Theater (we've also added Hale Center Theater tickets this year, so we'll be busy).  We made the resolution to write down who we take each time so we can try and give all our children and grandchildren equal turns (well, as equal as possible--this play was more of a girl play).  This time we picked up Hyeji and Doyeon.  These plays are even more fun when you know the star, and this time, Ben Lowell, whose family grew up next to ours in Bountiful, played the lead.  The play was, "She Loves Me."  It was the same basic story as The Shop Around the Corner or, more recently, You've Got Mail.  It wasn't my favorite play we've seen there, but it was fun and Ben did a great job.  The girls seemed to really enjoy it. Catharine, Doyeon, Ben and Hyeji;  Roy, Hyeji, Doyeon and one of the leads.  This girl wasn't the main female lead, but we thought maybe she
