Back to School and a Family Reunion

I think my calling as Stake YW President is coming to an end.  This week Roy helped me with a fun assignment.  We had to pick up 80 boxes of cereal for a Viewmont seminary activity.  We had two shopping cars completely stacked with boxes.  I meant to take a picture for the newsletter, but I forgot.  My only job was to pick up and deliver all the cereal.  The YM president picked up and delivered 32 gallons of milk.  This Wednesday we have what I think will be my last activity.  We have three families in the ward (neighbors of each other) that all have pools and sports courts.  They have offered up their yards for a large youth activity.  We have two food trucks coming to feed everyone which makes my job a lot easier.  It should be great fun.  I'm glad Hyeji is in my ward and stake and that she is a young woman so that she can come and enjoy the evening.  If someone asked me what the best the best thing about my calling has been, I would say without hesitation: "Working with the

Injury of the week                                     I don't want to have to make this a regular section in our newsletter.  Every week it seems someone gets hurt. This week it was Camden's turn.  He got into his mom's medications.  This required a trip to the hospital so he could be monitored. Thankfully, it turned out all right.  He had taken a medication for anxiety, and it made him very chill for a few hours.  Some interns asked if they could practice doing an ultrasound on him--not because he needed it, but because he was so calm and obliging.   After spending a good chunk of the day in the hospital, Nick's family headed up to the Gorge.  The next picture is the next day.  As you can see, he made it out of this scare all right.  When we had been with Nick's family at the Gorge a few weeks ago; Camden found my pill case.  I saw him with it and was panicked because some meds were missing, but he didn't appear to have eaten any.  On closer inspe

Miracle

Miracle                                    We experienced a miracle this week.  Our little Yuna, who we joke is made of rubber because she is so lithe and agile, took a fall off the high dive at the Farmington pool onto the concrete.  She wanted to get a running start for her jump, but the board was slippery.  As she began to slip, she tried to grab onto the side railings, but they were also slippery and could not stop her fall.  As you can see from the  picture, she gashed open her knee and had to have 9 stitches.  3 on the inside, and 6 on the outside.  The doctors were amazed that she wasn't hurt any worse than she was.  I am so grateful that she was being watched over.   We found out that she's not totally made of rubber--but almost! Amelia Christensen gets Married We attended Amelia Christensen's wedding dinner, wedding and reception.  Several of my siblings were present at wedding dinner up in Logan.  Nan asked me if I was staying the night with Crista.  I said no.
