A Relaxing Week (for me)

Image
I had a very relaxing week.  Roy was away on business, and other than teaching water aerobics, I hardly left the house.  I got to sew, read, practice the piano (I never got to the violin), and take it easy.  I loved it, but it got a little old by the end of the week. Especially in the evening.  Roy's week was a lot more eventful.  He went to a conference in Tucson, Arizona.  At first he was thinking he'd be close to where Glenn lives, so he thought I might like to go.  He wasn't at all close to Phoenix.  I would have enjoyed going with him, but I was in charge of a stake fireside in the middle of the week, so I felt compelled to stay and perform my duties.  Roy had a successful week, and he was also able to get out and about a little bit. Speaking about Glenn: He did test positive for Covid, but he wasn't admitted to the hospital.  He's still very sick, but mending a little each day.  Because he's a doctor, he has friends that have been able to prescribe some t

A few months ago I sent a message out to everyone with a video clip attachment.  The clip was about a new book that is out called, "Let's Talk about Polygamy," by Brittany Chapman Nash.  In the video clip she quotes a part of her book that says, "The reality of plural marriage marked the 'beginning of all my sorrows,' wrote Phineas Cook, 'Notwithstanding I was coverted to the doctrine of plurality.'" This quote said: "Emily Ellingham Hart, first wife of James Hart,

The highlights of the last two weeks were Ori's baptism and Gunnar's ordination to the Priesthood.  Ori was privileged to be baptized just 5 days after her birthday.  Happy Birthday, Ori!   She looked so beautiful and grown up.  Her primary chorister was there to lead the opening and closing songs, and Ori had asked her to use sign language on the closing song, as they had learned it in Primary.  The song was, "My Own Sacred Grove" by Angie Killian. It really touched my heart to hear it sung, but also to watch the sign language.  The lyrics of the song are: Joseph Smith went to a grove full of trees Seeking God's wisdom, he fell to his knees As he pled with the heavens, the sky filled with light And the Father appeared with His Son Jesus Christ Standing above in the air Coming to answer his prayer I will find my own sacred grove Away from all of the noise of the world I will turn to prayer For I know He's there I will find my own sacred grove So many choices w
