A Relaxing Week (for me)

I had a very relaxing week.  Roy was away on business, and other than teaching water aerobics, I hardly left the house.  I got to sew, read, practice the piano (I never got to the violin), and take it easy.  I loved it, but it got a little old by the end of the week. Especially in the evening.  Roy's week was a lot more eventful.  He went to a conference in Tucson, Arizona.  At first he was thinking he'd be close to where Glenn lives, so he thought I might like to go.  He wasn't at all close to Phoenix.  I would have enjoyed going with him, but I was in charge of a stake fireside in the middle of the week, so I felt compelled to stay and perform my duties.  Roy had a successful week, and he was also able to get out and about a little bit.

Speaking about Glenn: He did test positive for Covid, but he wasn't admitted to the hospital.  He's still very sick, but mending a little each day.  Because he's a doctor, he has friends that have been able to prescribe some things for him that are helping.  Dave told me that Glenn had also received a blessing and he's sure that Glenn will recover.

This was on the grounds of the resort where the conference was held.

His conference was over after breakfast on Friday morning, but his flight wasn't until the evening, so he took a drive to Tombstone Arizona and saw enough to know that he'd like to take me there sometime.

We have felt a little deprived of seeing our grandchildren because there has been so much sickness.  We decided to have one family over at a time for a while, to lesson the possibility of sharing all the viruses.  Last week we had Nick and Sara on Friday night, and Jennie and Jordan on Sunday.  Last night we had Dan's family.  Below is the only picture we took, and Yuli didn't look up.  She likes to try on shoes.  These are a little large as they belong to her dad.  Hyeji announced during the week that she won the Stem fair at her school.  She did a project where she tested soap vs. hand sanitizer to see which was better for cleaning your hands.  She said the results were a little bit inconclusive as they both created bacteria colonies, but they were different sizes and they clustered differently.

We're happy for Elise and Andy as Andy received word that he will be able to stay and work at the hospital in Augusta for at least the next three years.

Nick had exciting news, too.  Next year his company will be sending his whole family to Lisbon, Portugal for their annual company trip.

Matt has finished writing a book.  More news on this later.

Jennie with Ila after a hair cut.  I'm not sure if Ila
got her hair cut, or just the boys.  Adrienne sent
me a video of 3-year-old Ila skiing down the mountain
all by herself.  That's amazing to me.  They've taught all their
kids to ski from a very young age.

Cailyn is busy working at her new marketing job.  She says she loves it and has made great friends already.

Also, just FYI:  Bryant and Anna Oblad had a baby girl this past week, and Christine has two new grandbabies that she is currently spending time with (Nathaneal and Whitney had a baby boy, and Sarah and Paul had a baby girl).

One comment on last week's letter.  President Daines also told us that he attended an area conference with over 232 stake presidents as well as mission presidents, etc.  He reported that Elder Holland said that things have been hard for a lot of people these past few years.  He mentioned that following the prophet's counsel has been hard for some people as well, but, he said, "This is only the pre-game warm-up; there will be greater things down the road than this..."
