Harvey turned 5 on April 24. We weren't there to celebrate with him, but I was able to get his gift when Caitlyn and I were there earlier this month. He also had his birthday date with his siblings back in November when Roy and I visited. We're a little behind on the birthday dates because we had so many in late March and April. We're still looking forward to going out with Todd, Finn, Ila, and Hyeji; and Ruby's birthday is tomorrow. Happy Birthday to all of you (We should take the adults on dates, too, but we don't).
Maverick got braces this week.
We had the opportunity to take Cub for a few hours on Monday morning to give Adrienne a lift. Roy had him the first few hours (I had a PT appt.), then I took over. He is busy! On Sunday he gave Adrienne quite the run for her money when he dumped a whole carton of milk on the floor--then his macaroni and cheese lunch, and the final straw--he climbed onto the counter and slammed a glass container full of kale to the floor where it shattered. He wasn't quite so much trouble for us.

Dallin in his dad's garage (next door) working on his motorcycle. He's very mechanically minded. He also replaced a water heater in their condo this week.
It was our anniversary on Friday. The plan was for us to go to Monticello for a sideXside ride with Roy's club. We were going to socialize with the club members in the evenings, and ride on Friday and Saturday but my body wasn't on board. I had been having a lot of neck pain throughout the week (arthritis) and had been seeing the physical therapist. I asked him about riding for hours with my neck issues and he laughed. He said that if the trail was just a dirt road, I should be fine. The trail was a little more complicated than that, so Roy and I decided I should probably stay home. He offered to cancel, but...we are going to Israel on Thursday, so I figured we could celebrate later. I'm having Roy write about his weekend.
Roy:
A couple, Will and Peggy Redd were the ride leaders, Fred and Betsey Panucci were the Tail Gunners. We rode in two different areas between Monticello, Utah and Moab, Utah. Very scenic, lots of arches, rock formations, slick rock, sand trails, small ledges to climb down and over. I really missed having mom on the ride with me. It really isn't her thing but I love when she can see the beautiful scenery that God has created. It was probably for the best though because we are going to Israel this week and she was suffering more than I have seen her suffer in a long time. She seems to be doing some better today (Sunday - 27th). This was one of my favorite type of rides--somewhat challenging but not too much, especially for the Honda Talon; and I have improved my SxS skills over the past couple of years. We had 3 or 4 spots where the leaders got out of their machines and pointed the best routes for the particular obsticles. One of them was straddling some slick rock on a ridge with drop offs on either side that was probably only a couple of feet wider than the Talon and went down for 50 - 60 feet, fun! I didn't get down to Monticello until about 9:00 pm on Thursday, we met as a group Friday morning at 8:00 am, trailered about 45 minutes to our orientation and starting site, then drove about 39.9 miles on Friday. Beautiful country. Friday night we met as a group at a BBQ place in town. It was actually really good. Saturday morning we met at the same time and trailered about 40 minutes to our staging site. The ride was a little shorter but super fun. Lot's of different types of trails, slick rock, sand, rocky ledges and fantastic views. I got back to the Hotel by 4ish and decided to head home even though I had paid for another night. I wanted to get back to my cuddle bun (Catharine) and sleep in my own bed.
I have made lots of new friends in this club. They are are good people, friendly, helpful, etc.

The Monticello Temple. I had to drive by and take a photo even though I didn't have time to attend. A beautiful small temple.
The last of the grandchildren have returned to school. Cam and Yuli get to go to pre-school together-and the Avinator (Avie) has started Kindergarten (I may be a week late on that one). We returned home from Flaming Gorge on Tuesday, and Roy woke up early Wednesday morning to catch a 6:00 flight to Chicago for a conference. He got home about 1:00 am on Friday morning. He was pretty exhausted, but he still wanted to drive to Logan to watch Crista's three girls play soccer. Bridget and Greta played on the same team. Bridget was definitely in it for the sociality. Greta played a little, and day-dreamed a little, too. Ruby made a goal right off the bat. She is definitely more engaged at this point. After the games we went to Angies (restaurant) for a treat. Bridget; Todd All the kids had pancakes and they all ate a lot, excepting Greta. Ruby had her own plate of pancakes and finished up Greta's. I had pancakes, too....
We spent a week at the Gorge with some of our family. Roy had planned another ride for his club (he did one last year) for Friday and Saturday (July 11, 12). Previous to the ride we had three perfect boating days. On the third day Roy and I stayed at the cabin because I had an institute class to teach and Roy had chores. After we finished up with that, we had a peaceful kayak ride in the bay. Speaking of my institute class: this semester I am teaching "Jesus Christ and His Everlasting Gospel" and my students are all from West Africa. I have found that I have to listen very carefully to understand their comments. When I can understand them I learn from them. It's been a great experience so far. Bevy and Effie eating chips on the boat. It's an essential boating activity. Camden and Sara Bevy, Effie, Mav Harvey Max, Ori, Harvey, Effie, Bevy, Mav, Avie, and Cam Mav spotted this garter snake which thrilled ...
An announcement: Gunnar Green made the Woodscross Highschool golf team--as a freshman! Congratulations, Gunnar. We had a wonderful party at Phil and Charlotte's home. It is always great to meet up with family members. I took a few pictures and Christy Cunningham sent me 115 more. If you're interested in seeing more of the pictures, let me know. I'm including a few (a lot). Next year we may have to try and host the family when Elise is here because she always misses out. It was fun to see my siblings that were able to come. Roy with Zack (husband, not sibling), Glen, Rosilene, Serah (Jed's daughter), Christine, Steve, Charlotte and Dave. Phil was there but is not in this picture. Matt, Crista, Zack and Adrienne Ruby, Todd, Miles Gray and Caroline (I think). The kids had a blast on the trampoline. Phil has a launching block that makes it lots of fun. Hyeji, Doyeon, Cub (front); Miles Gray, Lyla Dayton, and Isla Costle...
