Ila, helping her mom.  Note the cooking apron!  And Yuli, the fashion queen.   A New (for us) Season in Manilla Roy and I spent a couple of days in Manilla this week.  It was relaxing for me, but Roy had to work.  He did his regular work, and it was also a work trip to get some things taken care of (we had a water softener installed).  It was very cold, each morning it was about 5 - 10 degrees, warming up later in the day to a balmy 18.  We woke up to snow on Friday which is wonderful since we need the water so badly. We got home from Florida and I found this tomato in our garden.  It looked so perfect but I was sure it would taste terrible from being frozen.  It must have been protected just enough, because it was really good. After Andy finished residency and started receiving a full doctor's salary, he ordered a Tesla.  It finally arrived and they made the trip to Atlanta to pick it up.  It took three pictures to capture the whole family because Beverly wanted to be in a picture all by herself. I am not very social, but I have a few friends from the pool who are getting together for lunch and even a movie on the occasional less expensive Tuesday.  My friend Tami likes movies, but her husband doesn't.  My other friend, Lori, is a divorcee.  I go along, but Roy likes movies and he even likes chick flicks, so I feel a little bad going without  him. Funeral We attended the funeral of my cousin, Carma.  I mentioned her on my previous blog and added the link to her obituary.  It was a nice funeral and she obviously shared a lot of love with her children and grandchildren.  The highlight of any family funeral is the family reunion.  It was great to see several of my Clyde cousins that I don't connect with very often.  The best part was having lunch with Nan, Christine, Dave and Roy.  I love that I get along so well with my siblings and have such a connection with them, even though we don't see each other often enough.
