Greta's Birthday
Last week I requested prayers for Jeff and Emily. This week I ask that you add Bruce Oblad to your prayers. He had a small stroke and it was discovered that he has a hole in his heart.
I failed to mention in last week's letter that when I went up to Logan to visit with Crista, I took Greta out for her birthday date. We had a good time at the Book Table where she carefully chose a couple of gifts; then we went over to Great Harvest and had a treat. She chose a Valentine cookie to take home.

Dan and Jieun took me and dad out for my birthday (and hopefully they'll count it for his as well). We went to Sicilia Mia in Murray. It was a really good Italian restaurant. We enjoyed the food, and especially the company.
Roy received the following from Bill Glover after he emailed Roy and asked him if he was getting his emails. I think he's shared this story us before, and I may have put it in my blog sometime in the last 10 years, but if so, it's probably worth repeating.
As to Thomas. You may remember that we attended the funeral service, but that cemetery is huge and anybody would get disoriented in that place. Years later, in connection with my suicide support efforts, I attended the funeral of a popular teenager. I had to park a great distance away and follow the road to the site of the funeral. When it was over, I was already late for a meeting, so I chose to cut across through the cemetery and to my car.I was walking very briskly, when all of a sudden I came to a complete stop. Because of the speed at which I was walking, I wasn't paying attention to any of the things I was passing... just looking straight ahead. My mind said "Why are you doing this?" Then I looked down at the headstone beside me. It says "THOMAS RASBAND." I swear, Roy, it felt like a tiny hand had reached out and caught me by the ankle and said, "Hey! I know you!
It freaked me out a little at the moment but has remained one of my most memorable life experiences. And that's my Thomas story! God Bless him!
Thanks again!
Bill
*Bill Glover was Roy's boss when he worked for Revenue Systems in Atlanta. Life's been hard on Bill. He had lost his only (adopted) son to suicide before we knew him, and then his wife, Joan died many years ago. He went to Ecudor to live life more inexpensively and remarried there. I'm not sure of the status of that marriage. All I know now is that he is currently in Arizona.
