Picture Essay: Flaming Gorge and a few other things

                                        Bridget's Birthday

We didn't spend the day with her, but we could tell she had a lot of fun by the pictures we received.
Greta, Bridget and Ruby

It's obvious they got a little carried away with the frosting.

Hyeji and her siblings had some fun--smashing Yuli.  Maybe they were bored.  They spent this past week in California in the home of a friend who let them use their house while they were out of town.

Young Men's

Roy is very active and busy in his calling with the Young Men.  Last week they went to Lyle Peterson's airplane hangar to get a peek at all his fancy cars.  They actually loved it.

Flaming Gorge

Caitlyn took most of the pictures.  She took a lot of the view from our "cabin."  I'm sharing some of  them.  It was windy alot, and the water was still bitingly cold, but we had fun anyway.

This was the first pleasure trip to the Gorge this year.  Our first guests were Caitlyn and Dallin, and Crista and Matt and their kids.

Dallin and Cait brought their jet ski.  It was fun, even in windy conditions.
Ruby LOVED it and wanted many rides.

Caitlyn and Ruby; Todd: Don't worry, the life-jacket was only off when we were beached.

Pretty, but the water was a bit rough

All of our grandkids have probably napped here at one time or another.  Our boat is 17 years old and still in great condition.  That means our grandkids have all grown up with it.

As you can see, the water was really muddy and full of debris in the shallow
shore areas because they'd had a tremendous rain storm before we got there.  When we arrived there were piles of hail on the road and even by our doors.  The roads were flooded in several areas.  It's been an unusual summer in Manilla.

Crista did my hair in French braids.  I didn't wear it to church like this the next morning.

Todd and Crista are ready for church.

Nature Walk

There were plenty of ants on this trail.  We had to walk fast.

Bridget would have climbed right into the creek if we'd let her.

Greta, Todd, Matt;  Todd and Caitlyn

There's always at least one crisis when the Rasband grandchildren are around.  This time Bridget put a kernal of corn up her nose.  Matt went to the store and the best he could do was a cake decorating tip with a water bottle to flush out hte kernal.  It worked.  Andy suggested a "mother's kiss" would have worked, too.  I'm not sure even her own mother wanted to try that!

Jackson's in Myrtle Beach

Mav and Bevy enjoying the beach in South Carolina.  I'm sure the water was MUCH warmer than what we were experiencing.
All our family has been having a fun recreational summer in various places of the world.  Nick's family is still in Portugal and living it up.  There are a lot of pictures of their trip on Facebook and Instagram.

Matt, center, and Roy on the right;  Roy wanted me to post this picture of him with Todd.  He says he's Todd's security blanket.  Crista says Todd won't even cuddle with her for as long as he cuddled with grandpa.

Dan on his California trip.  It's seaweed, not hair!  Thank goodness.
