Elise's visit continued:

The night after we returned from Flaming Gorge we had the whole family to dinner.  The only one we missed (sadly) was Andy.  Roy's wheels are always churning on what would be fun and enjoyable for his family.  The pony rides the kids had on Adrienne's birthday inspired him to try it for all the grandchildren in our backyard.

Oli's team won this championship game.  Another team he played at also
made it to the Championships.  They played a game with boys that were
two years older.  They lost, but the game went into two overtimes because it was so
close.  We had Ila and Gunnar over to ride the ponies while the rest of the G family
watched the game.

At the end of the pony party, Dojin got his pajamas on and asked me, "Where do I sleep."  
I understand he went and cried to Elise because I told him he would sleep at his house.

Ice Skating

A visit to grandma Catharine once a year wouldn't be complete without a trip to the ice skating rink.  Max was determined and did not want to use the walkers.  He asked me, "How do I go fast?"  He didn't like my answer because he wanted to go fast right now.

I stayed home and caught up on a few things while Elise, Sara and Jieun took the kids to the dinosaur park in Ogden.  It was a super hot day, but they loved it.





To finish off the week Adrienne hosted a swim party in the Green's pool.  The following pictures will be labled later.  We are about to leave to go to Aspen Grove with the WHOLE family!

The last of the grandchildren have returned to school.  Cam and Yuli get to go to pre-school together-and the Avinator (Avie) has started Kindergarten (I may be a week late on that one). We returned home from Flaming Gorge on Tuesday, and Roy woke up early Wednesday morning to catch a 6:00 flight to Chicago for a conference.  He got home about 1:00 am on Friday morning.  He was pretty exhausted, but he still wanted to drive to Logan to watch Crista's three girls play soccer.  Bridget and Greta played on the same team.  Bridget was definitely in it for the sociality.  Greta played a little, and day-dreamed a little, too.  Ruby made a goal right off the bat.  She is definitely more engaged at this point.  After the games we went to Angies (restaurant) for a treat. Bridget; Todd All the kids had pancakes and they all ate a lot, excepting Greta.  Ruby had her own plate of pancakes and finished up Greta's.   I had pancakes, too....

At the Gorge with the Jackson's and the Rasband's (Nick's family)

  We spent a week at the Gorge with some of our family.  Roy had planned another ride for his club (he did one last year) for Friday and Saturday (July 11, 12).  Previous to the ride we had three perfect boating days.  On the third day Roy and I stayed at the cabin because I had an institute class to teach and Roy had chores.  After we finished up with that, we had a peaceful kayak ride in the bay. Speaking of my institute class: this semester I am teaching "Jesus Christ and His Everlasting Gospel" and my students are all from West Africa.  I have found that I have to listen very carefully to understand their comments.  When I can understand them I learn from them.  It's been a great experience so far.   Bevy and Effie eating chips on the boat.  It's an essential boating activity.   Camden and Sara Bevy, Effie, Mav Harvey  Max, Ori, Harvey, Effie, Bevy, Mav, Avie, and Cam  Mav spotted this garter snake which thrilled ...

Great Family Party!

An announcement: Gunnar Green made the Woodscross Highschool golf team--as a freshman!  Congratulations, Gunnar.   We had a wonderful party at Phil and Charlotte's home.  It is always great to meet up with family members.  I took a few pictures and Christy Cunningham sent me 115 more.  If you're interested in seeing more of the pictures, let me know.  I'm including a few (a lot).  Next year we may have to try and host the family when Elise is here because she always misses out.   It was fun to see my siblings that were able to come.  Roy with Zack (husband, not sibling), Glen, Rosilene, Serah (Jed's daughter), Christine, Steve, Charlotte and Dave.  Phil was there but is not in this picture. Matt, Crista, Zack and Adrienne Ruby, Todd, Miles Gray and Caroline (I think). The kids had a blast on the trampoline. Phil has a launching block that makes it lots of fun.
