Welcome Todd Milton Vance

Todd made his appearance in the world on Monday, Mar. 29, 2021.  He weighed 8 lbs. exactly and was 20 inches long.  He is perfect!  Beautiful little chubby cheeks!

Crista had a great labor--it was relatively short, and Todd was anxious to come into the world.  Crista labored on her own, without pitocin, and only had to push twice!

Todd has quite a lot of hair.

Grandma and grandpa got the fun job--we got to watch the girls Monday evening, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning.  They were great, as usual.  One of the best things that happened was--after getting Ruby and Greta down on Tuesday night, we were able to hold Bridget for an hour.  She was content just sitting on our laps.  The routine would have suggested that we put her down right after the other two--but she was just so cute and sweet we couldn't resist.  We would ask her if she was ready to go to bed and she'd say "no." So we'd say, "5 more minutes."  But after 5 minutes we just couldn't give her up.
Bridget, ready for bed.  Roy put a bowl on her head and
she thought it was pretty great.
Roy took Ruby shopping.  She went right for the
small shopping cart.  I think they mostly bought
sugar.

Greta and Todd

The girls are easy to tend.  Crista has quite a routine.  Both Bridget and Greta take a nap every afternoon.  They also like things a certain way.  I put away their clothes after folding the laundry.  Greta pulled a pair of pajamas out of the drawer and said, "Pajamas!  These don't go in here!  Luckily she just laughed at her grandma.

Holding Bridget at bedtime

Since Matt has two weeks off to take care of Crista (his work offers six weeks of paternity--after you've been with the company for a year--Matt hasn't been there very long, but his boss agreed to two), we only stayed until Matt and Crista caught up on their sleep a little bit on Wednesday morning.  Of course, Todd hadn't slept at all the first night home.   Roy had had his 2nd vaccination for Covid on Tuesday and was feeling the effects, and I was determined to go skating since I had to teach water aerobics on both Thursday and Friday.  I'll have to go back up and help Crista a bit after Matt goes back to work.

Friday we met all our family that lives in Davis County at the zoo.  We have two premium passes--Adrienne got one, and I'm the 2nd name, and Jieun got one and put my name down, too.  We were able to get everyone in the zoo with the two passes, and our train ride and carosel ride were included.  We had a great time.  The weather was perfect, and it was only slightly crowded since you still have to have a reservation.  We missed having Elise's and Crista's families.  We stayed a record 3 hours or so.  I think that's because we had such a large group.

We used up at least 1/3 of the train with all of us.

Camden liked the ride

So did Yuli

When we got home, Roy and I slept for 1 1/2 hours and woke up just in time for me to go and get my first COVID 19 vaccination.  Davis County has a pretty slick system at the fairgrounds across from Harmon's.  It's all drive through and they had enough stations set up that there was no waiting,  I did have to have an appointment.  I was pretty tired yesterday from the vaccination, and my arm hurt, but nothing like what Roy endured.  He had chills and fever and fatigue.  I feel a lot better this morning.

Friday evening Roy and I went over to Nick's to eat and try out Nick's VR game (virtual reality).  It was pretty amazing.  Roy wants me to include the videos of Nick and I playing, but I'm short on time, so I may add them later :)

Conference, as usual has been a wonderful experience.  I loved how Sunday morning's session showed what an amazing world wide church we have.  All of the talks were wonderful.  I love it when conference falls on Easter Sunday because it gives me great hope.  Thomas passed away one week before Easter and every year I'm reminded that our time apart is relatively short and I will see him again, thanks to the Savior and his willingness to give up His life that we may live with our loved ones again.

We had the family over for Easter dinner.  Some of them joined us for the final session of conference.  Amazingly, we were able to still listen to the talks.

The Jackson's also enjoyed a fun Easter--although they had to celebrate a week early in order to have Andy involved:
