Summer is winding down

It's a small world A few weeks ago AJ was teaching a class in church.  He had brought my dad's autobiography with him and was sharing some of the stories.  After his lesson, a member of the ward came up to him and said that she had some connections to our family.  Her name is Patrice (Nielson) Lawrence.  She told AJ that her mom was my mom's best friend in Springville and was broken-hearted when Ila moved to SLC.  Her name was Ruth Nielson.  Even though Ila had moved, they stayed connected and remained friends and Ruth still considers mother to be her best friend.  Ruth is still alive at 102 and is living in an assisted living facility in Farmington.  But, said Patrice, "our connection doesn't end there.  She told Adrienne that her husband's uncle had been one of the first to respond to the plane wreck that killed Gene Bird.  He saw that Gene had a Book of Mormon, he picked it up and kept it.  He said it was inspiring to him through...

July 24 We had our entire family together (including Andy) for the first time in 4 years.  Now that Andy has completed his residency, he'll be able to vacation with his family.  We even took a family picture, but not professionally--and you can tell.  There is not one picture where at least someone does not look goofy.  Some of them looked goofy (on purpose) in every photo. For our celebration of the 24th and to say goodbye to the Jackson family, we had everyone over for dinner, fun and fireworks.  The Vances brought their bounce house again and the water kept all the kids cool.  The only injury this week was a bloody nose when Effie's head bumped Avie's nose.  I forgot to mention that last week at the Gorge, Yuli's arm was hurt and Dan and Jieun had to take a late trip to Rock Springs (an hour away), to check out Yuli's arm.  It turned out nothing was wrong, but she babied her arm for about half of the following day.   A few (actually a...
