More Christmas and some birthday activities: Merry Christmas

Roy got a couple of awesome pictures of this hawk when he went up to the Gorge again for a project day.  Before he left we had the opportunity to enjoy our grandkids in a few more programs.  1st was a school Christmas concert at the Logan tabernacle, it included all of Crista's girls.  Each grade had the opportunity to share a Christmas song.  We also heard their school orchestra.  It was a fun evening.

We also had the privilege of hearing the piano recital where all of the Green children (except Cub) performed.  Finn Gunnar and Ila all taking bows after performing.  They all look like they took this very seriously (Ila may have just been terrified as it was her first recital).

The teacher is next to Gunnar, then Adrienne, Finn and Ila
Ollie was at the other end of the group of kids which required a 2nd picture.

Immediately following the recital we picked up Dojin and Yuli and took them on their birthday dates.  Yuli's was last week.  Dojin turns 8 right after Christmas.  We got them a treat at Swig then on to Target to pick out their presents.  I think they were both pretty happy with their choices.

We got their picture wherever there was a window for them to look through, but I'm only using these three pictures.

An awesome activity for the week was the Santa party hosted by the Greens.  Santa showed up and talked to each child (except those who were too scared); gave them a gift, and read a Christ themed Christmas story.  We took more pictures than I can use, but the fun thing was that we got a good picture of each family:

The Vance family; The Howell Family (It was Jordan's birthday, and Foster's the next day.  Happy birthday you two!)

The Nick Rasband family; The Green family

The Dan Rasband family (minus Dojin who really didn't like Santa).

More pictures from the Santa party.  We got a picture with every child on Santa's lap, but that's just too many to include here.  I might do an extra entry during the week with all of these pictures.

Cub's favorite thing is to rip off my glasses, so I used the opportunity to get his picture

As I mentioned last week, the focus of the season should be on our Savior, Jesus Christ.  I haven't put my focus in the right place as much as I should, but today we had a wonderful sacrament meeting (our program was last week).  We sang Christmas songs and had one excellent speaker.  The song Silent Night brought tears to our eyes.  I hope all of you can find a quiet moment to reflect on the Savior's birth, his unparelleled life, and his ultimate sacrifice for all of us.  I'm so grateful for Him.  He gives me hope and because of Him, I have peace.

                  Merry Christmas
