Pictures

Last week, after publishing the letter, we had family dinner and everyone came except the Jacksons.  The cousins especially enjoyed their time together.  I wanted to share the pictures that were taken because you can see the joy the kids have in playing with each other (especially when they play dress-ups!)

Todd is so happy when he plays cars at grandpa's house.  His favorite cars/motorcycles, etc. are the ones that are "off limits." Of course, it turns out that not much is off limits when it comes to Todd.


Nick was the favorite uncle of the week.  He played with the grandkids in the yard most of the evening.  On the swing: Dojin, Bridget, Camden and Avie

Saturday night Roy wanted to go on a side by side ride to see the sunset.  We picked up some of the Rasband children on our way.  It was a beautiful evening with sheets of rain scattered throughout the valley (we didn't get rained on at all).  The sunset was gorgeous.  Dojin really wanted to hike, but he was only able to go about 100 feet up the road since it was getting dark.  Dojin sat by me in front.  He had a lot to say, but he must not have realized how little I could hear through the noise. Utah happenings Before we left for Georgia we had a big snowstorm.  The Vances were hit hard in Logan.  Todd was extremely happy with the car that Matt built in the snow for him.  Now that we're back from Georgia we're getting hit again with snowstorms.  They're beautiful and we need the water, but I think we're about ready for spring. It was Tom's birthday on the 21st.  Adrienne made the effort to take her family to the grave on his birthday to send balloons off to Tom.  Roy and I went on Friday night (March 1),  right before a big wind and snowstorm so it was pretty cold.  We didn't stay long.  Gunnar wants to go back when it's warmer and do a clean-up job on the grave stone. He's sweet to think of serving that way. Summer/Lake Powell

We celebrated Father's Day in Lake Powell this week.  I am so grateful that I had a wonderful father who taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ and shared with me his love for the scriptures and history and was able to interconnect history, science, and the gospel.  He showed the connection between history and the scriptures in his book, "The Time of Jacob's Trouble." (Finished and published when my dad was 92 years old). If you haven't yet read it, you should.  It's excellent!  I am so amazed at all my dad accomplished in his life.  His ability to love and to forgive was a great example for his children.   I'm also so blessed to have an amazing husband who has been a great father to our children.  He's also given them an example to follow of love and service, and so many other things.   We went to Lake Powell with Adrienne and AJ for 8 days, so I didn't write a letter last week.  I am going to highlight a few things from last week: T...

Picture Essay of our San Rafael Swell Trip

Hyeji, Doyeon, Roy and I arrived in Green River, UT. in time to eat dinner at the Chow Hound.  The picture on the right is outside the restaurant--while we were all still clean.  After we got back to the hotel, I prepared for my Institute class.  Zoom is great because I can teach anywhere; as long as I have internet.  Roy and the girls were going to take a walk, but they were all tired so they just quietly read or did projects while I taught.       The rest of the pictures may or may not be in order, since they are from three different cameras, but you'll get the idea.  Roy deemed the rock formation on the left, "Catharine's Castle."  It would have been a good point of reference on our return, except that there were a lot of similar formations.
