Happy Thanksgiving

Beverly's 5th birthday

Beverly turned 5 this week.  Grandpa and grandma will see her right after Christmas to wish her a Happy Birthday and take her on her birthday date.  We'll take Maverick, too, since his birthday is in January.  Elise posted a Facebook picture of her in this princess dress.  She was on a stool helping to make dinner.   Kim Saling left a comment: "Poor Cinderella."  I think she's actually Sleeping Beauty; and she didn't look like she hated slaving over the dinner 😏.

The second picture is of Harvey.  Apparently it is quite cold in GA. right now, but he doesn't really like his clothes.



New Addition!



Roy tended our sweet Ila on Tuesday while Adrienne went to the doctor. On Thanksgiving Day, Ila was allowed to make the announcement: "My mom is pregnant!"  We are so excited to have another little baby in the Green family. 

Temple Trip



Hyeji and Roy had the opportunity to go to the temple together with the youth of our ward and do baptisms.  I asked if it was her first time, but Roy said she's been several times, partly because she was in the Young Women organization a year early.


Thanksgiving Day

I am thankful for my wonderful family and I take great joy seeing the children and grandchildren enjoying spending time together!  These relationships are so important and worth every effort and time investment.  

It says, "Grandpa Roy--I'm thankful for my girlfriend."

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.  Lots of pictures were taken and shared with me (since I'm bad at remembering to take pictures.  I'm including one picture of the place cards Ruby made for our dinner tables.  She took a picture of every single place card.  She was proud of her contribution!

In these pictures, Yuli is holding onto a stick used to count out music.  Jordan is lifting her up.  She is hanging onto the stick.  She's strong (like her sister Yuna).  Hyeji, Yuna and Todd are also in the pictures.

Roy took the fun outside by taking all the kids on rides.  It was pretty cold, but they had coats.  Well, most of them had coats.  Doyeon borrowed mine and I found it in a heap on the kitchen floor when she was done with it.  I picked it up to hang it and found that she had stuffed my pocket with snickers bars.  We teased her about it and she said, "Well, I just like them."  I forgave her for not hanging up my coat.

Todd.  Adrienne brought these Christmas count-down calendars for all the kids.  He was trying hard to get the plastic wrapper off with his teeth.

Yuna, Yuli, Ila, Ori, Ollie (When Ruby made the place cards, I wrote everyone's names down for her to copy.  She came to me and said, "Yuli spells her name with an L?"  She was quite surprised as Yuli's name sounds more like Yudi.

Gunnar took care of making popcorn for all the kids.  I was surprised anyone was hungry enough to eat popcorn!  I think Ila was behind it because they were having a movie night, and what's a movie night without popcorn? Ila loves popcorn.

Sara took a lot of the pictures which is why there aren't any pictures of her and Nick.



 Hunting Activity


Friday Roy took part of our family pheasant hunting  (whoever wanted to go).  They ordered 28 pheasants to be released for them and between all the hunters, they shot 24.  I think those will be divided up among maybe 3 families as no one else wants to eat them.

The next morning, Ruby, Bridget and Greta were really getting into their show!  I was taking the photo as they were all hyper-focused, but Ruby and Bridget caught on and smiled for the camera.

Even Todd, who is not quite 2, knows how to help himself to ice.

Utah happenings Before we left for Georgia we had a big snowstorm.  The Vances were hit hard in Logan.  Todd was extremely happy with the car that Matt built in the snow for him.  Now that we're back from Georgia we're getting hit again with snowstorms.  They're beautiful and we need the water, but I think we're about ready for spring. It was Tom's birthday on the 21st.  Adrienne made the effort to take her family to the grave on his birthday to send balloons off to Tom.  Roy and I went on Friday night (March 1),  right before a big wind and snowstorm so it was pretty cold.  We didn't stay long.  Gunnar wants to go back when it's warmer and do a clean-up job on the grave stone. He's sweet to think of serving that way. Summer/Lake Powell

We celebrated Father's Day in Lake Powell this week.  I am so grateful that I had a wonderful father who taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ and shared with me his love for the scriptures and history and was able to interconnect history, science, and the gospel.  He showed the connection between history and the scriptures in his book, "The Time of Jacob's Trouble." (Finished and published when my dad was 92 years old). If you haven't yet read it, you should.  It's excellent!  I am so amazed at all my dad accomplished in his life.  His ability to love and to forgive was a great example for his children.   I'm also so blessed to have an amazing husband who has been a great father to our children.  He's also given them an example to follow of love and service, and so many other things.   We went to Lake Powell with Adrienne and AJ for 8 days, so I didn't write a letter last week.  I am going to highlight a few things from last week: T...

Picture Essay of our San Rafael Swell Trip

Hyeji, Doyeon, Roy and I arrived in Green River, UT. in time to eat dinner at the Chow Hound.  The picture on the right is outside the restaurant--while we were all still clean.  After we got back to the hotel, I prepared for my Institute class.  Zoom is great because I can teach anywhere; as long as I have internet.  Roy and the girls were going to take a walk, but they were all tired so they just quietly read or did projects while I taught.       The rest of the pictures may or may not be in order, since they are from three different cameras, but you'll get the idea.  Roy deemed the rock formation on the left, "Catharine's Castle."  It would have been a good point of reference on our return, except that there were a lot of similar formations.
