Halloween (lots of pictures)

Ori is taking ice skating lessons from Caitlyn (who has now added coaching to her long list of responsibilities).  Ori really wanted to show grandma how much she's learned.  Since she had early out this past week, we were able to meet during an uncrowded public skating session.  Afterwards she really wanted to come home with me.  I looked through my cupboard for a project and found this fleece fabric.  Ori and I cut and tied the edges and then put her name right in the middle of the blanket.  I didn't take an ice skating picture, but I got this one with her showing off her project.  She really enjoyed being over here, so grandpa and I took her to dinner.  She didn't eat much, but it was fun being with her.  Because her birthday is right around Christmas, we don't usually get a birthday date.

We started our Halloween weekend at our ward Trunk or Treat.  We took a few of my witches, including the one that cackles while her eyes flash, to decorate our trunk.  There were a few kids that didn't want to get near her.  There were a lot of trunks open to support this activity.  It almost felt there were more trunks than kids.  Since Dan's in our ward, I was able to hold Yudi--but she just wanted to get down and walk.

We had black lights, too, but for a lot of the time it was too light to notice.  We even dressed up.

For Halloween night (on the 30th this year), I made a big pot of my mother's Minestrone soup and invited our family to at least come by and eat.   Gunnar came earlier to mow our lawn, and he helped me make the soup and cornbread, and then wasn't around to eat it.  Ila and Finn came and hung out while Adrienne and AJ went to another game of either Oli or Gunnar (or both).  Finn and I played some ping pong.  They were here when all the rest of the cousins arrived, but since Finn, Oli, and Gunnar all had Halloween plans, the Greens didn't stay long.  Luckily, we were sent pictures of their costumes.

Roy went to Finn's game on Saturday, one of the many Adrienne
and AJ were trying to navigate.

We also got to see the costumes of our Georgia grandkids: Mav, Gunnar, Bevy, Andy, Harvey and Elise.

Matt and Crista always go all out.  They did family disco costumes.
When they came to our house on Saturday, they toned it down a little.

Jennie and Jordan.  They love Halloween.  Jennie put actual extensions into Jordan's hair.
She said she was up until 3:00 am.  She also loves (and is good at) doing Halloween makeup.

Two very friendly sharks, Avy and Effie.

Caitlyn and Dallin were at our party, too, but since they didn't dress up, I guess nobody took their picture.  It was a fun year.  I think as long as our grandkids are willing to spend Halloween with their grandparents we will keep doing this.
